Emergency out of service?

Emergency, help, 911, what?

Would it surprise you to call for the police and get a response like 'out of service?' Well, it threw me for a loop the other day when I saw my friendly neighborhood black and white state police car roving past me with the sign on its window read 'Out of Service.'

Criminals rejoice, that police car will never stop to arrest you!
